Roobet announces the return of the CS:GO Roobet Cup for 2023

The second run of the Roobet Cup 2023 has been confirmed, with four teams already on the roster.

Roobet, an online crypto casino, has brought back the Roobet Cup 2023 for another round of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) events this October.

The online tournament will run from 25 October to 2 November, with a total of $250,000 in the prize pool.

In the classic GSL-style group stage format, 16 teams will play across four groups to reach the playoff games.

Then, the top two teams from each group will compete in the playoffs, until there is a single-elimination bracket to decide the winner.

Four teams have been confirmed so far, including Ninjas in Pyjamas, Furia, Big and Astralis.

Out of the total prize pool amount, $150,000 will go to the overall winner.

Notably, the Roobet Cup 2023 is being hosted immediately before the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) tournament, part of SXSW Sydney which has been hailed as ‘The Big Reunion’ of CS:GO teams.

When the IEM Sydney invites list was announced, it was pointed out that Heroic, currently the top-ranking team, and Astralis had declined their direct invites to the tournament.

The IEM Sydney 2023 is a LAN tournament, meaning that the teams will have to physically travel to the Aware Super Theatre, ICC Sydney venue in order to compete for the $250,000 prize pool.

Last year, the online inaugural Roobet Cup saw many names take the on the tournament, including Ence, Cloud9 and Mouz.

Eventually, Big would take the win over Faze in the final match, with the team returning this year to defend its title.

In an exclusive talk with Gambling Insider, GG.Bet’s UK CEO, Sergii Mishchenko, discussed the current esports betting landscape in the UK.
